Deb,

I'm saying lots of prayers for your recovery. That's so smart of you to get rid of your parents' bird. I remember how crazy it got after they took off and left you saddle with their life. That was just crazy!

I'm all for getting rid of stressors. That has been a big part of my lifestyle for a long time. I love minimizing stress. I love how calm and peaceful my life is now. Part of that is because I've chosen not to have children. I know that lots of "have to"s make me depressed and irritable. I don't take on too many things at once. When I've done that in the past, I've gotten depressed, isolated, and burnt out.

I hope that your kids will help out around the house while you are recovering. Learning to do work and take care of others at a young age helps children become more caring, responsible adults. Plus, they get to feel good about their accomplishments, which builds their self-esteem a great deal.

Good luck. You are in my prayers!
