Question: One thing?

Here I am again in my thoughtful mode. My apologies for those of you who are sick of my questions. But your telling me things like I ask help me (and others here) so much. It makes me not feel so horribly alone in this illness.

So here are my questions:

The one thing you feel got you into this depression?

The one thing you wish you could change about your life?

The one thing you wish you could change about yourself?

The one thing you would change about depression?

The one thing....a gift you would give to anyone here, it can be anything....use your imagination.

Thanks for putting up with my constant questions.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.

Take care,

Lisa-)

I am new here and I hope I am not intruding (if I am, just tell me to get lost---nicely!) I couldn't resist...

The one thing you feel got you into this depression?

The last straw was in '99, recovering from my separation from a cheating husband, my boss (female) couldn't handle a person who can deliver good work (she thought she was the only one who worked and could do the work at all), and made it very difficult for me at work.

The one thing you wish you could change about your life?

I do not consider myself a regretful person and know for a fact that if I changed something in my past, I would not be where I am, who I am with, etc. But a couple of business decisions made in the last three years involving distant family members (I have since taken them off my family list) would put me in a happier state at the moment.

The one thing you wish you could change about yourself?

If I could trust my instinct/intuition more than logic. (And allow me to indulge in another, please--- to be carefree and laugh and be innocently, simply and sometimes just be stupidly happy.)

The one thing you would change about depression?

That it does/did not exist.

The one thing....a gift you would give to anyone here, it can be anything....use your imagination.

A magic happy wand for everyone that they would wave---puts you in a happy disposition to allow you to tackle life positively and with strength.

Thanks everyone,

S

The one thing you feel got you into this depression?

having an abusive father as a child :(

The one thing you wish you could change about your life?

i want to be doing something work-wise that i like to do and that i make enough money that i don't have to worry about anything.

The one thing you wish you could change about yourself?

i wish i could be emotionally and physically healthy. there are so many things that my own mind and body hold me back from doing. i would love to be able to do things and not worry about when my own body is going to make it too hard for me.

The one thing you would change about depression?

that we could know when we are in it (if we have to be) that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The one thing....a gift you would give to anyone here, it can be anything....use your imagination.

the real one, which doesn't require much imagination- is to have their health.

a more interesting one- to have the ability to see where they have been with their emotional rollercoaster of depression and see it in a positive light- that it has shaped who they are and that they are stronger for it. some people think you have to see something to work hard, for us sometimes getting out of bed or existing takes hard work and we should feel good that we are all fighting and that is why we are here.

Hi legs :)

1. Abuse in childhood and possibly genetic

2. I wish I could right now be focused and dedicated in what I am doing with my life, and to know what I really want.

3. One thing I wish I could change about myself is my confidence level..its horribly low. I dont think it could be much lower.

4. The thing I would change about depression is how it alters my logic so that I dont know if Im overreacting in a situation or not.

5. The gift I would like to give is the courage to live the lives that everyone here deserves.

Take Care
