I saw Passion of the Christ and I thought that it was the best movie that I have ever sen, I was in shock I cried and I felt for Mary her being a mother and watching her only child die, which was his destiny he knew that he would die and he accepted it and was not afriad of it .

I am not big into religion and prayer and God and all of that I was braught up in a very Catholic home went to private school studied the bible ect....after my Aunt passed away I gave up on God I thought how could he take away the one person that loved me and I turned my back on religion totally......then someone told me that he needed an angel that is why he took my Aunt so I said okay but I need an angel too and I believe that she watches me everyday making sure that I am okay...

This movie made me cry yes there is alot of blood but do you all really think that Jesus had his last supper said okay I am off to die now and that it was peaceful and nice and pretty NO it wasnt pretty it was horrible torture he was lashed over 100 times and 40 lashes were to be fatel but he endured thru it all, I feel that the blood was a nessasary thing that way we all know what he went thru for us to be honest it has made me want to go back to church maybe then I can find some peace in my life.

I highly advice everyone to see this movie it is very intense but very good and thought provoking (sp?) I thought it was great and I plan on seeing it again.

For people who have nightmares, even watching Desperado, with Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek (OK, that night I had dreamt during Hitler years, women getting raped, sodmz, women and children getting killed in a one way no exit fun center, etc. . . . made me depressed on my Bday), I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND movies that will make anyone more into depressions. One woman actually died from watching the Passion. Alot of people walked out from the movie. They couldn't take it any more. If you like gore, whether you're into religion, then go for it. It's like watching another bloody movie. But, for me, since I'm not INTO STUFF LIKE THAT, and I get nightmares even an R rated movie, I'm not wasting my hard earned cash so I CAN GET NIGHTMARES and grossed out by it.

I know what Jesus went thru. I believed in Jesus. I grow up a Catholic, went to Catholic schools, I've seen many Jesus movies. I don't need to see another movie that is so controversial. What I don't believe are the PRIESTS who says the mass in churches! How can I look at them in the eye and not think they've molested children? That's another topic, but that's what I don't believe. I also don't believe watching Passion will drive more people in their beliefs. There are far too many violence already in the world without having to promote another violent movie.

The women that you are speaking of who died after watching the movie, well I hate to say this but she was on her way out anyways people dont die from watching a movie she went into the movie knowing what was going on and what it was about just like people with bad hearts that go on roller coasters they are warned not to go on there are signs stating that if you have a bad heart not to go on this ride or that ride but people still go on them and the rides are not shut down ect...the same goes for this movie, that women was not killed by watching the movie, just like people blame music for kids going bad that is not true it is just a way for people to blame someone or something that went wrong in their life, I do not blame music if a kid braught a gun to school I dont blame video games I do not blame movies but that is just my opinion.

As for what I got out of the movie, I feel that it needed to be made that people needed to see what Jesus went thru the pain and sufering the strength that he had and to be honest it renewed my faith in a way I am not saying that this movie is for everyone and yes if you are prone to gets upset over these movies then do not go and see it but as sad as it was it also is uplifting the end of the movie gives you peace. I just wanted to state my opinion of the movie it didnt make me depressed at all and I am very prone to being sensitive to things that are so real to ife, I am going to see this movie again I loved it.

Well, yeah, you have've made a point or two.

I for one, is an example of that, just get very emotional. I cry often when others may not see it as emotional, when I watch a movie, specially in theaters. I cry alone, when I'm really into it, at home.

I do listen to songs, the same songs, that people who are very aggressive go out and buy a gun for and actually killing other people. Different strokes for different kinds of people, and vise versa.

I really suggest, if you have a bad heart, and there are all kinds of warnings NOT TO SEE THE MOVIE, then by George, follow that warning, and not go.

If someone is very depressed, the movie will either make them more deeper intdepression, or who knows, could cure their depressions. But it is a very emotional thing.

P.S. I heard in an interview, that James Caviezel got whipped FOR REAL, during filming and he couldn't scream.

that is so awesome that you got so much out of it!! Praise the Lord that at least one person saw what was actually going and the actual message that this flim was ment to show. its amazing that someone in mainstream media as popular as Mel gibson made this movie and what it does show that the others dont is the burtality and haterid that Jesus endured during his crusifiction. those other movies gloss it over hugely. Jesus didnt die quickly, it was long and agonizing.

as for contriversey well it is the truth that the Hebrews put Jesus to death , you cant change history. now it was with the urging of the priests because he thru off their groove. but it was supposed to happen that way, if it hadnt then we would all be destined for hell. I dont see the big contriversey. it dosnt make me hate jews. I dont really know where that came from.

The movie didnt make me hate jewish people at all I cant hate someone for the color of their skin or the religion they practice or not practice.

The thing is about this movie is it touched me to see the bond between Mary and Jesus the courage and strength this women had to see her only child die at the hands of other men, it blows you away and it made me feel good at the same time renewed my faith a bit and I lost all faith in God when my aunt died and now it is slowley coming back to me.

Yes the movie is gorey bloody and it is not for the faint at heart you have to be able to take it all in but if you can not handel that then do not go see the movie, I do believe the Jesus did go thru all the pain and torture that is shown for us imagine what the world would be like if he didnt

I had the opportunity to see this fabulous movie on Friday night. I am a Christian and have been for 12 years. Yes, I cried like a baby when I watched what Jesus went through to forgive me of my sins. I am sorry that some of you are not into watching this movie and that is okay.....but I think that everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I just want to share some sources where you can get more information on this amazing movie that Mr. Gibson made. In your bible you can read John 18-21. This is where the movie takes place. Also, check out "The Passion of The Christ" website at: http://www.thepassionofthechrist.com/skip.html

Yes, I did cover my eyes at times and I wanted to stand up and yell for them to stop doing that!!!! But this is real world history. This really happened. Jesus was crucified and He rose again!!!! Jesus did this so that we all can be forgiven of our sins!!!!

God Bless Y'All

ok, erin, you know i love you so PLEASE don't hate me or be offended by anything i say here because i want you to know i almost didn't write it because i didn't want to make you mad at me....

i am jewish. as this movie came out, i have never felt more like an outcast in society in my life. first of all, this whole thing about the jewish people and their role in jesus' death has prompted discussions that are very anti-semetic. honestly, even some of the people saying they don't know why jews are bothered feels bad because we do and that alone is seperating us from everyone else. i have talked to my family and jewish friends about this actually hoping that i was the only one, and they are all different emotions and all of them aren't good. it doesn't feel good when people are talking about you in a negative way- even though in this case it is related to our distant ancestors. i really believe that no one knows for sure what is true in this world, although some are closer to the truth than others. how can we really know? because our parents/religious leaders/etc say that the bible, torah, koran is completely true? the bottom line is that none of us were there and no one can say anything for sure. so thinking that what any of us believe is "right" and someone like mel gibson using his status monetarily and in the movie business to have a forum to basically preach to the nation is reminisent to me of past dictators. this is america. we are all supposed to be able to believe what we believe and feel free to do so. when i turn on the news, walk down the street, or go anywhere that they talk about this movie, there are so many people that are praising jesus and this movie for it's message. i understand that everyone is excited to see what they believe portrayed on such a large scale, but think of how you guys would feel if everyone was so excited that "the truth" was being portrayed so loudly and widespread and it wasn't what you believe. especially if the people that you are associated with are being portrayed in a negative light.

many of my ancestors were killed in the holocaust, and at first people wanted to point the finger at the germans and hate them for letting this happen. i would never want a movie like this made portraying the germans as murderers because there were so many at the time that had nothing to do with it, and i would hate for a whole nation of people to be persecuted today.

i'll finish now. please no one be offended about this. i know that everyone means well, and you are excited that something that you believe is now so out in the open. just remember that there are lots of people like me who are very uncomfortable and upset by this movie- it's existence and discussion because the more it is talked about, the more times we have to feel uncomfortable and out of place. i am really scared that this movie is making anti-semitism (prejudice against jewish people) reach an all time high.

again, please please don't be upset by anything i have said. i don't want to do anything but say my piece and remind you guys that there is another side and people don't all feel the same way. i respect all of your views, no matter what they are. i am happy that this movie has made some of you happy. just remember that it isn't like that for everyone.

i don't know if anyone will even read this, but i wanted to say that for anyone who knows me, you know how hard it is for me to stand up for myself. i was trying really hard not to offend anyone or say anyone was wrong, but to enlighten about my point of view that i know others feel as well. after reading this last response, i am hurt and i feel like i can't voice my opinion. this thread started off with erin talking about enjoying a movie, which i think is great. it has snowballed into people being mean to each other now and i don't think that is what this board is about. i wasn't trying to stir up controversy, i wanted to offer another side in a nice non-judgemental way. i am sorry if i offended anyone. i have always felt such an openness and kindness towards each other on this board where i feel like i can say things without being judged. i hope that we can stop this meanness and go back to being supportive of each other instead of attacking each other. that is not what any of us needs. erin, i am sorry if i made your post go sour. you know i love you, please please don't be mad at me. to the people that went beyond debating to attacking, that is not how we treat each other here.
