Hi....I've just been diagnosed with severe depression and the Dr. is recommending Zoloft for me. I'm hesitant to take any kind of antidepressant because of the difficulties I've heard about "coming off" them. I've known 3 people who have weaned off slowly from different types of antidepressants and all of them had to go back on because of the side effects of coming off. I would like to hear anybody's experiences with how Zoloft worked for them....good or bad. Thanks.

Hi There,

I have not really experienced any problems with side effects from Zoloft other than a little tiredness but now I take it at night so it doesn't affect me. I haven't been weaned off of Zoloft and I have been on it for about 10 years now. I am now on the maximum dose of 250 mg and I will say it does help. I still do have my thoughts and stuff at times but I know if I wasn't on an antidepressent I wouldn't be here. Good luck and remember that just because one drug works for someone does not mean necessarily it will work for you the most important thing is to be patient as most antidepressents take 4 to 6 weeks to start working. Love and Hugs Andrea
