Hi everyone, I saw my doctor today. We had a good talk. He always helps me so much----but unfortunately he does not do the therapy end of things. He says he only does meds. I point out to him all the time how much he helps and what good advice he gives me. Oh well, anyway, I had been talking to him about my therapist (Bruce) and how I didn't feel we were doing anything. So I brought it up again today and he said he usually prefers the continuity , but he thought I had a valid point. So he set me up an appointment with a therpaist who is in his office group. I am going to keep my appointment with Bruce next week and explain why I am leaving. I could not get in with the new therapist for a month----but I see my doctor in another 3 weeks----so it all works out.

Also----a big part of my problem has been the negativity of our principal. My husband and I decided the other day that I just wouldn't sign my contract next month and I would just give private lessons and sub. BUT! There is an opening in a Catholic school 20 minutes from my house ( I drive an hour now) and I have an interview next week. They need vocal and instumental----but the man I spoke to said the band program is very new and that I would probably be able to stay ahead of the kids. Maybe I could just make them all learn flute and piccolo! Anyway-----it may not even happen----but even being depressed and suicidal---I am a very good teacher! (modest too!)

Sorry I went on so long, Debbie

OMG!!!!! You can't see me right now, but I am doing cartwheels, twirls and all kinds of funny little dances.

Debbie...I am so thrilled to that you are getting a new therapist! And I am thrilled that you have this interview. You HAVE to keep me posted, okay??

Now I am not gonna be able to sleep!

Hi Trac, You're right. It would be so ncie if you could see the doctors who you both like and are helpful to you. My pdoc is just so great (not to mention really cute!) and when we do talk a bit I always feel like he helps me so much. I'm lucky in that my medical doctor is fantastic too. I hardly ever see her-----but when I do, she always takes the time to sit down and talk for a few minutes after she'd taken care of whatever I went in for.

I'm nervous about seeing my therpaist next week since I'll have to tell him I'm leaving. I really do like him----I just dont' feel like paying someone to sit and just talk to. I have lots of friends who I do that with for free! :)

Hi Pamela, I will definetly keep you posted and I will try to get back to you via e-mail very soon. I'm WAY behind in answering everyone. I'm excited about the new therapist. I wish I didn't have to wait so long to get in----but I'll manage. I'm also excited about the interview. About 25 Catholic schools closed in the area this year (or will be closing) so there are a lot of people out there looking. Let's hope they aren't all music teachers! :)

Hi Barb, Switching therapists was a hard decision, but I think it was the right one. I switched about 4 years ago----so I've been with Bruce quite sometime. Before him, I had a wonderful therapist, but we became friends and it was just too wierd to have lunch with her one day and the next be in her office crying about life. I'll let you all know how the interivew goes. Our contracts for next year will be given to us April 1st and we have til the 30th to return them----so I don't have to make that decision for a while at least!
