My new Pdoc

Hi everyone

I went to see my new pdoc on Friday. I have to travel four hours to where my mom lives to see him. Each province is broken up into Regional Health Authorities and I work for the Parkland Regional Health Authority. So I have to travel outside of my RHA. Anyhoo, it's fine by me because I get to go see my mom!!

Anyway, this is the same pdoc that my mom has been seeing for years. He seems like a decent guy. It was my first appt with him, so mostly it was just catching him up on my "issues".

One of the first things he told me is that he knows from my referral from my other doctor that I am also struggling with my weight. He informs me that he no longer puts women on Paxil as it causes continuous weight gain. I thougth this was interesting as I had asked my gp when I was living in Regina two years ago and she assured me it had nothing to do with my weight gain. So he is putting me back on Wellbutrin. I have lost 20 pounds since January and he was really impressed because I guess it is really hard to lose weight on Paxil. I am looking forward to changing, because Wellbutrin is supposed to boost your energy as well, which everyone knows I need. And Paxil has those stupid sexual side effects, too.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how it went.

Pamela,

Glad to hear that the pdoc appointment went well..

Congrats on the weight loss 20 pounds really..whats your secret? I am happy for you I know that you have mentioned in the past about your weight and I am happy that you are happy.

I have heard about welbutrin but my doc wont ever give it to me because I get kinda manicy and I guess it would make me off the wall manic but I have heard great things about it.

Good luck hun and I am glad once again that your appointment went well.

That's great news! I hope that the wellbutrin works well for you! I heard that there are alot of lawsuits going on right now in California? about Paxil and it being addictive,so that is another added bonus for you to change meds. Congrats for losing all that weight! That is awesome! Keep up the great work!!
