I feel like a pile of wreckage, not a human being.

Sweetie,

I know that it seems and insurmountable task to start to rebuild.

Hey Sweetie, I'm so sorry that you are facing this difficult journey ahead of you. It's terrible to feel that you have so much ahead of you to deal with.

I know it's an old cliche, but they say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It's too hard to focus on all that you want to do at once. Who can ever face that? Focus on one thing at a time.

You have joined Weight Watchers. That's a wonderful way to get support. I don't know how your health is in general, but the best thing to do for yourself healthwise is usually taking a walk. Take a walk every day for 20 mintues. It doesn't have to be fast or far, just walk. You can go early, or at dusk, if you feel self-conscious. My cousin weighed 350 pounds. He started to eat the Lean Cuisine dinners and lost 40 lbs just from that lifestyle change. Then he cut out the bread and lost another 30 lbs from that. He lost all of that without even adding exercise to his life. For me, I lose weight fast if I go walking every day and cut out sugar. It's important to let yourself have all of the meat and vegetables you want. Don't let yourself feel you are starving or depriving yourself. Four hundred pounds usually means there is emotional eating going on. I have a problem with emotional eating myself. So when I take a walk, I focus on putting all of my anger into each step. It is a healthier way to let my anger out instead of stuffing my feelings.

I'm glad that you are going to a dermatologist next week. Hopefully he will have some ideas. Try making an appointment with the dental school. Then just take every day at a time. Take a walk. Do you something you love to do instead of eating the thing that you crave. Take it a day at a time. If you fall back one day, face the next day as a clean slate. That's all that any of us can do.

I'm a good one for makeovers, so check back after your dermatologist appointment. I always have lots of makeup, hair, and color suggestions.

Have you read Dr. Phil's Ulitmate Weight Loss Solution book? I think it has some good suggestions. One of the best ones is the support system. I think a support system is good for everything. We all need help when our motivation wanes and we start feeling despair. Thinking about all of the things you still need to do is one of the fastest way to feel overwhelmed.

One thing at a time. Tomorrow take a walk. Wednesday go the the dermatologist. Take it from there.

We're always here for you.
