Hi all!

Wow, I have been here so little in the past few weeks I hardly recognize ANYONE!

Anyway, I have noticed a pretty big change in my energy level now that I am off Paxil. I have been noticing that I am falling asleep way faster, and when I wake up in the morning, it's like I actually feel as if I had some rest.

It's weird how it just changed and I almost didn't realize it.

When did you switch? Did you have a problem with sex drive on Paxil? I was on Paxil for about 6 months and was just totally exhausted all the time. I've been on Celexa 20 mg for 18 months, and I don't have the tiredness, but I definitely have low libido. I don't know if it's the drug or my depression, though. Wellbutrin is supposed to be better for that.

Glad it's working for you!

Glad to hear you are getting energy and or sleep. Wellbutrin is good for making some people feeling alert. I am so glad it is working better. It did nothing for me, but I have very a stubborn chemistry.

I did sing happy birthday to you with the girls. But I did not sing too loud, otherwise we would have been kicked out of the coffee house.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.

Take care,

I didn't think Barb was serious when she said that you all sang happy birthday to me. That is so sweet.

Nicola

I had EXTREMELY low sex drive on Paxil, but that was only part of the reason I went off of it. It did drag me down alot. My pdoc, whom I have only seen three times, told me the first day I saw him that he doesn't put women on Paxil anymore due to prolonged weight gain.

I am happy that I am off of it. I feel so much more energetic, and while I was on Paxil I didn't realize that it was the Paxil doing it.

I did the same a few years ago too. THe Paxil made me too numb personality-wise. I felt like a zombie. So, I switche to Wellbutrin. I got up to 300mgs of WB and then went down to 150mg for awhile when my life kind of settled down. Recently, I have been through a really hard time with a back injury that has made me feel like the whole world was collapsing on me. My doc increased my dose back to the 300mg level and after three or so weeks, it is helping keep my depression at a dealable level.

What dose are you taking.

Thanks nbeginning!

It's nice to hear from someone who has done the same thing that I am attempting to do.

I started off at 100 mgs. Then he upped me up to 250 mgs a day - 100 mgs in the am, 150 after lunch. But then I was feeling so dizzy etc. So I called him, and he told me to cut back to 150 mg in the am.

I am feeling better, but I am wondering if it is because all that Paxil is finally out of my system. This is the first week I didn't take any. Last week I was still taking Paxil every second day (10 mgs).

Added to that Barb (one of our FABULOUS CLs!!) sent me an article on discontinuation side effects of Paxil. So I am almost positive that that is why I was feeling so terrible.
