Hello Everyone:

I'm recovering from Depression, which I've had all my life. I'm doing quite well on Prozac, but have occassional bouts where I spin into a downward cycle.

I just started attending Emotions Anonymous, which is a 12 Step Group (like AA and AlAnon) and I think it will really help to keep me balanced. Just thought I'd let you all know about this group.

They have a website, which I think (but can't remember for sure...) is something like emotionsanonymous.org...I'll double check on this and post another message if it's not.

p.s. Having a sense of humour really helps me too (albeit a dark sense of humour at times.)

Great! I'm glad the website helped you and that you have a group near you. I've been going to one regularly by me and it's helping (along with the Prozac and a sense of humour.)

HipsterG,

I've heard about these meetings, but always been sort of skittish about going. This might sound like a really lame question, but what are the people at the meeting like? I picture a bunch of scary, dishevelled, unwashed old guys who leer at you as you walk in. I know that's a ridiculous image, and don't know why I think it!! Still, it keeps me from going.
