i have been taking zoloft 100mgs daily for almost two months now. it is helping somewhat, but i have noticed i no longer have a sex drive. it is completly gone.

and if i do have sex with my dh i get nothing whatsoever out of it. not that i ever did before....but i least i did get in the mood. i know there are other meds i could take but im scared it wont work as good as zoloft, not that zoloft is the perfect drug.

can anybody give me some advice???

thank you

Tylixxa, All of the AD meds seem to effect libido. You just have to try different ones to see which has the least affect on it for you. Lexapro works well for me for depression and I can still get in the mood. Talk to your doctor. Hugs, Brenda

Hi!

I take effexor, and i had the same thing. I was unable to orgasm. apparently a side effect of my drug was anorgasmia. (my sex DRIVE wasn't down though, which was very frustrating). I eventually found that I had to be a lot more patient, and that it just took a lot longer, though I could never reach it with a partner. Some people have talked about a combination with Welbutrin (?) if you search the archives with the proper spelling of that drug, and "sex" you might find some suggestions.

Good luck!

I take Effexor and it does the same thing to me. I tried to go on Welbutrin after weaning off E. for 6 weeks but Welbutrin did not help my depression. I did get my sex drive back while on it. Unfortunately I am back on Effexor. Just talk to your dr and see if other Rx's might help.

good luck
