Depression meds and pregnancy

I am trying to find out more about the medications I am taking for depression and if they are safe to take during pregnancy (I doubt it). My psychiatrist seems a little clueless in this area. Where could I find up to date information on this?

Hello! and welcome!
I would think that the person who would know best about what is safe is your OB/GYN and I certainly would ask him or her for the final call.
I did look around a bit and found this article

It is very hard to get good information about meds during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Even many ob/gyns and psychiatrists are misinformed or uninformed. Here are a few links that might help:
http://www.motherisk.org
I think this your best bet. It is run by Toronto Sick Kids Hospital. There are articles on depression, and you can call their hotline if you want info on a specific drug not mentioned.

This is the website of Thomas Hale, the leading American researcher into breastfeeding and pharmacology (may also have stuff about pregnancy).
http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/antidepressants-hale10-02.html
This site is all about breastfeeding. I'll give you the link anyway, in case you want to know what drugs are safe for nursing. This page is about Hale's research.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! There are drugs that are safe for both you and your baby, to keep you *both* healthy.
Take care,
Nicola
GOOD LUCK
