Lots of good choices, but I had to vote other...for cleaning.

Somehow the other choices are very temporary, and/or they cause you to focus on the problem at hand. But somehow with cleaning, not only can I focus on something else (my current task), but at the end I feel like I've accomplished something. That's probably the neurotic's answer...but it still works! =)

For me, it's more than just one thing (although I did vote).

Very interesting answers everyone. Thank you for replying. The more I think about it, the more options I would put here. I think something that takes our minds off our issues is soooo important as well, and I think only few ppl use only one source to cope with depression. LadyIrish, your post almost brought me to tears!!! Wonderful!

I no longer have much problem with depression, so it's taken me a while to find this question. I voted "other" because too few people realize that proper nourishment is the single most important factor for all our health issues that it was not even listed as a choice to vote for! Well, my friends, please realize how vital it is that you nourish your body correctly so the mind and emotional system have the building blocks it needs to function. I no longer have much problem with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts becuase I have learned to properly nourish myself. I have treated myself exclusively through natural means. I have never been to a doctor, though I know many of you must get professional help. I advocate professional help because I know many lives have been saved. However, I can not advocate chemical medication because I honestly have never seen it really work in those I know (and love) who have gone that route. A woman I know with many of the same symtoms I had in the past went the doctor/medication route. She continues to gain weight, become more unhealthy and her depression stays about the same. I have gone the totally natural route and I have dramatically reduced my symtoms, I am slim, healthy and active. The aforementioned woman sits around all day, does not care for her own house, eats vast amounts of junk 'foods' and the only time she goes out is for recreational shopping. (many of the other factors such as family relationships, available social contacts, finacial secuity, etc., are much the same for both of us, so that is not what has made the difference in my success and her lack there of.) Please search mercola.com and westonprice.com for natural and nutritional info that will help you heal for good. There are also links on Dr. Mercola's web site for Emotional Freedom Technique practioners as well as info on all kinds of health issues in addition to depression info. You will be amazed at the awesome, whole body approach. Those of you who are not familiar with natural approaches to health care will be amazed at the ways your diet can heal (or destroy) your emotional system. It has worked for me and many others I know who have taken this route. It just makes sense that the 'building materials' will make a sound body or an ill body. Didn't we learn in elementary school that we are what we eat? Unfortunately, there is too much misinformation about what is truly a healthy diet. In a nutshell, it's the foods the creator gaves us, not what man has processed in a lab. Best wishes to all!!
