I've used Lexapro for about 1 year. I like it. It doesn't have the libido effects of some SSRIs, at least not for me. Hugs, Brenda

I was on Lexapro (lowest dosage) for a couple of years, and it worked better than the Prozac I was on previously. I am, however, bipolar, so ADs like Lexapro are not effective for me in the long run. They bring me "up" above the line of stability that I think we're all trying to reach. I started taking a mood stabilizer along with the Lexapro in March and am much better now. I have been withdrawing from Lexapro for several weeks because the mood stabilizer takes care of everything. I didn't suffer any negative side effects from the Lexapro. Hugs and good luck to you.

Good luck with the Lexapro...I hope it helps you. I know everyone reacts to medication differently, but I took Lexapro for several months (I was on Celexa for years, though), and it did seem to improve my depression to some extent. I can't really comment on the libido problem, though, since I wasn't seeing anyone at the time...but I hope it works for you without that side effect.
