Memory/concentration trouble?

I have depression and anxiety, but I also have the following symptoms:

memory impairment
trouble making even simple decisions
inability to focus my thoughts

Do these things go along with depression/anxiety?

Besides that, I realise that I am hiding everything. When I'm at work, I talk and laugh and seem to be perfectly fine. I don't do it intentionally but it's something I do automatically. Does everyone do that when they are depressed? It seems really unhealthy.

Welcome to the board...Boy do those things go with depression. I can't remember the rest of your post. Just kidding.

There are many many symptoms to this illness. I wish it were only one or two..it would be easier to treat.

I am sorry to say that you are normal. No one wants to be normal...everyone wants to be extra-ordinary. LOL

Have you taken the depression quiz at the top? It can help you focus on the many facets of our illness.

Keep posting to us, we love new people. In a short post you very concisely said a lot.

Welcome again.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.
Take care,
Lisa-)

Sounds like you're a naturally and automatically happy person. But you're just in denial of it. Take that talk and laughter that you share with others at work, and sprinkle some of it to yourself, Dave, and Mother once you're not at work. You deserve it. :)

I suffered the same way. The doctor put me on some meds that has helped with concentration. I lost my job. Too many depressing things were happening. I was like you though at work I acted completly different. I don't think it's healthy but it gets you by.
I wish you the best.
