I don't think you are an idiot, I have been lured into plenty of stuff. I recently bought what I thought was a good and collectible acoustic guitar (limited edition) on HSN from some bozo named Esteban, who of course made the guitar sound wonderful on the show, and he and the "regular" from HSN went on and on about the careful detailing, fine craftsmanship, etc. Then i got on-line to check out reviews of it before it arrived - and it got panned - and the reviews were right. it came off an assembly line in China. Oh well. I'll play it for awhile then sell it and get one from a real store.

How were you supposed to know that this was a scam. It is so hard to tell these days. And you know, regardless of whether it was a scam or not, i still stand by my opinion that it is a beautiful poem. You have talent, so don't give up.

Still love ya!

Mary,

I'm sorry for your disappointment. Please don't let this turn of events make you feel embarrassed or ashamed. These kinds of things happen in life. I've seen all kinds of scams. In our business, sometimes you get your hopes up and things don't work out. My DH taught me an important lesson when we first started working together in the writing and speaking business. It was that some things work out, but most don't. I've had some amazing opportunities in my life. Some have worked out and most have not. It's part of life. It's definitely part of life as a writer.

I'm sorry that you feel so badly, Sweetie. Treasure the positive feedback you have gotten, but most importantly, remember that you write for yourself. You know that you have talent. And there is nothing wrong with even paying for your poetry to be published. It'll be fun to have the book with your name in it! Lots of successful writers start out that way.

Treat yourself well. You are a gift to us all, and so is your poetry.

All My Best,
MariaC
