Hello everyone,

I'm new to this board, and I'm hoping that you could offer some advice and suggestions to me. I've been depressed for days-can't seem do get anything done, don't really want to do anything, even things that I would normally enjoy, etc. I've been taking zoloft for about two weeks, and xanax as needed (for panic attacks). My question is could it be the meds making me depressed? And what does everyone do to counteract this "funk"? How do I get up and get moving again, when I've got so much that needs to be done? ANY suggestions, tips, advice, etc. would be helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks!

Thank you, so much for the very warm welcome. It's so great to know that people are there for you when you need them on these boards! I just got back from a walk with my df, and I think that helped alot. I still don't feel like doing anything-but I hope to slowly be building up a better, more positive frame of mind.

Hope to see you around the board.

Depression takes awhile to get over. I've had it for years and believe me things get piled up because it seems to zap the energy. The psyc. gave me Adderall which has helped after years of having no energy. Sometimes I have to make myself get up to do the normal things...like just taking a shower. About three years ago I started teaching Water Aerobics which has helped alot. Exercise, as I have heard and agree with will help so much. Also, Yoga if you could find a class. It's better to do with other people than to just do a tape at home cause it makes you socialize. I hope you have good results. I think the world is spining too fast for us all sometimes.
