I am so frustrated...

...that I don't know what to do. My depression is lifting, which is good, although I remain cautiously optimistic because it has cycled up and down a lot.
So, I thought that since I'm less depressed I would be more productive. I still have about 20 reports to do for work - I'm about a month behind. And I've resigned myself to the fact that I am not going to be able to blow through them in a week. BUT, I have a presentation to give tomorrow (Grand Rounds to pediatric residents) and I haven't even started to prepare yet. It is an easy topic for me and I can make part of it very informal, but I need to make some of it

(((((((Sue)))))))) I can totally relate right now. I actually don't have much going on at work, but I'm putting off the things I do need to do. Yesterday I spent a lot of time looking up gift ideas online. Today I have putzed around and can't even tell you what I've done. Ugh! This time of year is always like this for me. I'm usually so preoccupied with holiday stuff. Like you, I do find that doing one small thing to get started gets the ball rolling. I'm like that with exercise too. Some days I dread going to work out, but once I step on the treadmill and get my music blaring, I'm into it.
Good luck with your presentation! You can do this! Hugs!

Thanks
On-line and catalog gift shopping - I WANT to but at least I've been avoiding doing that so far. At least until tomorrow afternoon (LOL). And pay the rent! And get groceries! I've been avoiding those types of responsibilities in the name of putting together this talk, which I'm not doing anyway!!!
It is now 5:45 pm and I'm making a small amount of progress. I've read some review articles and highlighted the passages i'm going to use (my talk is about constipation in kids, of which I have a lot of expertise - my friends call me the "constipation queen"

I am sorry I didn't see this until this morning.
Thanks!
The talk is done and went well - yippee!
I kept it simple and used clinical vignettes of kids i see in the office, so i didn't even need notes (first time!)
i do love Power Point - it's so much easier than making slides or overheads and separate handouts!
p.s. I think I'm one of those people who don't necessarily thrive on pressure and get a rush from it, but need the pressure and the looming deadline in order to get anything done!

Glad to see that your presentation went well! I wish I had known you 7 years ago when my DD1 was an infant. We had a big problem with constipation in her. As a new mother, everything like that overwhelmed me. I think we finally fixed it by changing formulas.
