Hello, I am new to this board. I am having a pretty tough time right now. I dont suffer from depression but when this time of the year comes around all I want to do is cry and I am soooo emotional right now. I dont know what to do about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

(((Suzy))) Some cyber hugs for you. Welcome to the board. If any group knows how to survive the holidays it is us.

I try to limit my exposure to Xmas stuff. Music, media, etc. I wear a walkman in stores, so I don't have to hear too much music. I watch my DVD'd in stead of the cheesey shows this time of the year. Then just in the nick of time, I dust off the stuff I WANT to watch.

Rudolph, frosty etc. Then I watch them when I want. I don't know if taking control will help you, but it helps me.

It gets me full of spirit and I don't feel bummed out all of the time.

Welcome again.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.
Take care,
Lisa-)

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I think you are on to something. I was doing ok by listening to CD's on the way to work cause the radio station I listen to on the way to work is granting xmas wishes and they are just so sad. Last year I cryed all the way to work and didnt think I was gonna be able to get out of my car(1 year anniv. of my dads death). Lastnight we were watching TV and there was a story that really hit home and that was it. I have been a mess ever since. I will try your suggestions and thanks for the hugs.
