(((Traci)) I think you are a lovely person. You are a good person NOW. Right this second. Past is past, there is nothing you can do to change what has already happened. I am sorry that your Mom won't let you forget it either. We all know we have to release it all. BUT sometimes the people around us can't release things the way they need to.
It is not the choices you made. They are in the past. They don't mark you forever. You can forge a future. You can make your life better. You are not your childhood. You learned from it, you made mistakes....SO...you move forward.
So you teach your kids that mistakes feel like forever, but they are NOT. They are not who you end up. Life is a road that you are driving down. Don't look back so it pulls you back. Look forward.
Traci, for the record, no one would be better off if you were not here. Not a single soul. You are a wonderful lady, and your kids are lucky to have you as their mom.
Sending hugs and good thoughts your way. Take care, Lisa-) Co-CL Depression Support
Everybody makes mistakes. Each day is a new beginning. I don't think it would be healthy for us to blame ourselves for our depression. In the same token, I try to not let myself fall in the "victim mode." You say you acted out as a child. Many of us did. I'm sure your parents did their best but they probably made mistakes.
We don't have to remain stuck in our past, but try to learn from it. Believe your father when he said he was proud of you.
Your children need their mother. By taking care of yourself, you are able to give more to them.
Hey girlie, I know what you are going through is hard, I have been there myself, plenty of times. You can't blame yourself for everything, mistakes happen, and no one is perfect. It's a hard lesson to learn, but once you do, you will feel a lot better. I know its hard ot let things go.. lol.. I am the queen holding a grudge, and not just letting it go.. my mom is constantly, saying Samantha, LET IT GO, it was the past. And it sound slike your mom and you need to have a heart. Explain what you are going through, and that you would like to talk about how here words make you feel. You love her, but it hurts when she reminds you of everything you did wrong growing up. That's what growing up is all about.. making mistakes.. and learning from them. Growing up in NOT easy, whoever said that.. was crazy! Anyway.. hope this helps! If you need anything, please feel free to email me anytime. Jarney2@netzero.com Hope things get easier! Take Care Samantha
