Am I overreacting?

I volunteer at a rescue squad. One of the older (70s--I think) members is always very nice to me and gives me hugs. Sometimes he'll kiss me on the cheek when he's leaving. Today he kissed me on the lips. It didn't seem sexual but it did freak me out. Am I overreacting? And why is this bothering me? He's just some old guy. I don't know I'm really stressing about this and I don't know why. Please, any input would be nice.

Just my opinion, but kissing on the cheek and giving a hug is borderline, but kissing on the lips is not OK without your prior consent. I don't think you are overreacting!

I agree with Sue a hug and kiss on the cheek seems top be okay that is if it is okay with you but onthe lips I would not like that at all..maybe is was an accident who knows but if it is really bothering you maybe says something to him or just write it all out maybe into a letter that you wont send that way you can get the frustration or whatever it is you are feeling out just a thought..
but I would be the same way if someone kissed me onthe lips that would make me feel uncomfortable but I would never say anything cause I am not an assertive person which is something i need to start doing..
I am sure the other ladies will have better isnght for you than what I have

Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was weird. I don't feel I could confront him about it but I will make sure I'm not put in that position again. Thanks again for your input, I really appreciate it.
