Doctor Must Know Me too Well......

Well,My doctor had told me to please go to the hospital emergency room after my daughter was safely on her plane yesterday if I was still feeling as bad as I had been. My therapist had told me to call her and tell her how I was doing today and possibly come into see her. I had no intention of doing either.

My doctor tho has apparently been working with me for way too long. He is out of the country now, but before he left had told my therapist's secretary to call me this morning with an appointment time for today to see my therapise. (did you follow all that?)

Luckily, my therapist is only going to be in the office today this week---so the first appointment she had was at 4. So I can still be lazy for a few hours.

In the meantime, a friend from school called and said that she and another friend were coming over to visit tomorrow and will be here by 10:30. Since they are driving an hour, I guess I have to be pulled together for that too. I should probably plan on fixing lunch here---but instead I have made reservations at a tea room close by.

Hope everyone's day is going well.

(((Mary and Caly )))) you are both right. I do have a GREAT doctor. (He's really cute too!).

Update on my therapy session today. Totally fell apart and admitted that I did have a plan. I promised her (therapist) I would go into the hospital tonight. I said I would go home, and as soon as my husband got here---tell him what I was really going thru and make him take me.
Obviously since I am writing this, I was unable to follow thru.
On my drive home, my husband called and told me to meet him at the hospital because my mother-in-law was worse.
I stayed there about an hour and a half and then he told me to go on home and he'll be home later. (She was doing a bit better when I left)
So, I did have the best of intentions, but there was no way I could spring the fact that I am hanging on the edge on him right then.

Now I really don't know what to do. I guess I'll just have to smile and hope for the best.

Dear Debbie: I am joining in late, but I agree with Mary to go to the hospital even if the timing isn't ideal with your MIL being hospitalized and your dh having you go to her bedside as she was doing worse. Do this for yourself FIRST! They tell the story at my one alanon meeting and I have heard it used before as an example, but when you are flying, the stewardess tells you to put your own oxygen mask on FIRST, then help your child or whoever else you might be with that would need assistance, so in this case, get yourself well first.

I for one can't imagine this board without you, so I know there has to be many people in your every day life which couldn't go on if you weren't around.

sending you love and prayers, Josie.
