I took my 30 mg of Prozac in the morning and my 50 mg of Trazodone at night as my doctor prescribed, and I woke up the next morning with the worst headache of my life and I was even throwing up. Could this be a bad reaction between the Prozac and the Trazodone?

The only thing that I can tell you is to read the part of your script that has all the side effects and what to watch out for like if you need to eat with it or drink milk with it ect...talk with your doctor and your pharmasist also...
it could just be that you have a headache or a migrain and have nothing at all to do with your meds...
I would ask your doctor though or call the pharmacy or read the pamphlet they gave your when you picked up your script.
Good luck to you

I actually did read the script that came with the medication and it said not to take Prozac and Trazodone together. My mom called the pharmicist, and he said he thought it would be all right since the dose of Trazodone is so low.

I would not mix the two if your doctor said not to do so I wouldn't a low does doesnt make a difference inwhether or not you can mix them sometimes pharmacists are not too bright give your pdoc a call and ask if it is okay it could also be from starting a new med..
I know for me when I started taking neurontin I got super hyped upped then kinda srowsy ect... now I am good to go although at night it makes em really sleepy which is good for me cause then I have no problems going to sleep at night but it makes me feel like I have had a few too many drinks without getting sick...or feeling sick..
I do hope that this subsides for you.

Pinkstar,

Was it the script or the prescription information paper that said not to take them together? When I asked about the pamphlet I was told it was ok also by pharmacy and 2drs.
There is a lot of flu with nausea and headache going around talk to your dr. before you change anything please because either of those meds could have withdrawal symptoms and I don't know how long you have to take them to be affected.

Please be careful

You are on two completely different kinds of antidepressants. One is tricyclic (Trazadone) and the other is serotonin reuptake inhibitor (prozac). If you are feeling those side effects, they are probably just side effects coming from one or the other or both. I would agree with the pharmacist (I'm a RN) and say that since they are two different medications and work in 2 totally different ways, you'll be fine. Definitely call your doctor tomorrow though and tell him what is going on. Also, why did they put you on 2 anti-depressants? The reason I ask is because usually one is sufficient and if it's not, they usually try you on a different antidepressant by itself.
