Hey everyone! I am fairly new here I pop in here and there. I am currently on 20mg of Paxil and .25 mg of Klonopin 2x daily. I got very bad headaches with the Paxil so my dr just switched me over to Prozac which will start Tuesday I am currently weaning off of the Paxil. I suffer from Panic disorder and I do not know anyone that uses Prozac for that. I was wondering if anyone could "fill me in" on Prozac and their experiences. Thanks!

been taking prozac for 11 years (since i was 14!)- dont know what i would do without it. i know it takes a few weeks to start working- and even a month or so before it is at it's best- but then it is good becaue it is in your system. also take klonopin! it made me tired and kind of dulled so i try to only take it when i need it and that works pretty well for me. just knowing it is there helps. if you have more ?s, i'm happy to help! just email me or post.

I also take Prozac, and I have only good things to say about it. After trying almost all the other anti-depressants out there, I finally started Prozac about a year ago (I'm not sure why it wasn't suggested before!). It definitely helped with my depression (and on a maybe irrelevant note, the major benefit for me was a huge improvement in my physical symptoms of fibromyalgia). And a few months ago, I raised the dose from 10 mg to 20 mg daily and noticed that my mood improved from the dose change as well.

I hope you continue to post...I'm sure you'll find the board supportive and helpful. I have a lot of anxiety as well, although I've never been diagnosed with panic disorder. But I have heard mention of Prozac being helpful in treating anxiety as well as depression...I hope you also have a good experience with it.

Keep us posted,

Rose

I have been taking Prozac for a little over a year. I had very few side effects - they were extremely mild, and passed in a couple of weeks. It hasn't completely knocked out occasional depressive episodes, but it has helped a LOT.
