My therapist only wanted me on drugs

Ok here's the thing. Over the summer, I finally accepted the fact that I have been depressed. So, through my job I was able to find a therapist, but it seemed like she only wanted to get me medicated. So, I have been taking wellbutrin which has helped, but I went back to see her, and she didn't seem to interested in hearing about the things that I need to talk about. It's not easy for me to talk about things to begin with, but I really feel like she just wanted me medicated and that she really doesn't care about my true well-being. Am I being too sensitive about this? Or is it time to find a new therapist? Thanks!!!!

If at any time you feel a therapist is not listening then you need to find a new thearpist! They are there to help you sort threw things not just medicate you! Yes medications can help but so can the right theraphy. They go hand in hand. If some doctor gives you meds but then never follows up then what good did that do? You have reasons why you are depressed and as a person who tries to barry my feelings also You have to get those feelings out! please try another therapist if you can.

Yep time for a REAL therapist! That isn't a therapist. Thats's a lazy one dimensional thinking over educated person. Sorry but you deserve better than treatment like THAT. There are some really good therapists out there. She may have been right to get you on meds but she isn't right in her treatment of you. I'd say seek another one out.
