I know this will sound ticky-tacky compared to what's happening with others, but it's bothering me.

Everyone here knows I've been saving for a trip to Ireland, a lifelong passion.

(((Mary))) I know Ireland is an important trip for you and it IS going to happen. Maybe you need to push it back just a little in time tho and find your own place. Power going off without notice, toilets that break and may or may not get fixed....that's no way to live. You need to have some peace of mind. This is just my 2 cents and I know how much you are looking forward to Ireland----but I think you should at least look into getting your own place. I'll send you hugs and good thoughts. Debbie

((((Mary))) I wish I could tell you the right decision. As Deb said it is not a good way to live. I also hate that feeling like you don't have control over your own environment. But it may be the best you can do. A few options:

Do you have lease? If you have some sort of contract. Go over it. It has to included having a toilet to use easily.

If not, offer to buy the part, toilets are pretty easy and you may be able to google a fix it manual. And offer to put the part in yourself. You will simply take the amount off of your rent. Find out how much labor would cost for a handyman and deduct that as well.

If she sees that it will be more worth her while to fix it than to not, she may do it right away.

As far as electricity, you should be given some notice so that you can shut down. Doesn't have to be a lot of notice, 15 minutes should do. But you are doing "work" on your computer and if it crashes at a critical time she could cost you money. Which of course would be deducted from your rent. (Getting the idea). You are a smart lady and time is money.

Just my two cents to my special friend. Vent your concerns n any time. No problem is too little. Depression makes everything seem catastrophic. Having friends to bounce things off of is really important. We are here no matter what.

I love giving a few bits of help. Makes me feel like a useful engine. Thanks for that opportunity.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.
Take care,
Lisa-)
