What makes me happy???

Hi....Does anyone have any ideas on how I can help myself with a problem....My doctor suggested to me to do things that "make me happy"....my problem is that I don't know who I am anymore or what makes me happy....If anyone has ideas on how I can figure out who I am again it would be greatly appreciated......

well, a good place to start may be to consider things you have done in the past that you enjoyed - and there must be something, at some time, that did! depression makes it seem as though you will never be and perhaps never have been happy, i know, but once upon a time you probably had some activities you enjoyed.
do you like music, or play an instrument?
do you like to shop (ok that does usually require money, which i certainly don't have right now).
do you enjoy seeing family, or friends, and what do you do when you see them?
do you like to work-out, or go on walks?
do you like movies, either rented or at the theatre?
what about dinner at your favorite restraunt?
do you have a pet that you can take on a walk, or just play with at home?
what about a hobby? or are you open to taking up a new hobby?
my sis started scrapbooking when she was living in savannah, we live in KS and she couldn't see us a lot. then they got transfered to GERMANY! within less than a month of moving there, her DH was sent to iraq, so she was in a new country with 3 children 6 and younger. the youngest loves her daddy but not behaving for mommy! scrapbooking helped her stay sane and meet other people, and she now has a scrapbooking business on the side.
she made an AWESOME scrapbook for my mom for christmas, of mom's trip to germany with my dad, and one for her DH of all the news and letters from iraq (he ultimately spent 16 months there and looks to be returning again this march).
anyway, i hope that gets you started thinking!
good luck and let us know how you are doing.
