Books, Reading

Has anyone ever found reading about conditions to be helpful? Does it make things more confusing? I was researching a condition called Dysthymia (symptoms sound familiar) and came across a book, so I ordered it. It is called
Beating the Blues; by Michael Thase amd Susan Lang
When ordering it mentioned another book called
The Half-empty Heart; by Alan Downs

Has anyone read either of these books or reccommend any others. Stress and anxiety are definitely an issue. Psych once told me in a quick diagnosis that he thought I had Social Anxiety.

Hope all have a good week.

(((Golfdognut))) Welcome!! What a great question! Most folks here would say yes. We have a post down below that is titled "Books the board suggests"

Caly therapist suggested this book, she has made huge strides with its assistance:

Mind Over Mood: Change How You Feel by Changing the Way You Think
By Dennis Greenberger, and Christine Padesky

Thanks for the post. We do need to read up on our condition.

Sending hugs and good thoughts your way.
Take care,
Lisa-)
