last night, when DH brought DS home from spending the weekend at my parents, i showed DS my *ouchies* or my incisions from surgery. i wanted him to know mommy had some owies and we had to be careful not to hurt her! a little while later, i walked in the bedroom where he was having a snack and watching tv, and he pulled up his shirt, pointed at his belly, and said *OWIE! OWIE! OWIE!*
i said oh no, do you have some owies too? he says OH YEA! OWIE! so i had to kiss his belly to make him better.
tonight, he came home from daycare, ran to me for a kiss and hug. i gave him his snack and juice, as always, and he put those aside to show me his imaginary owies again! what a cutie pie!
no matter how much physical pain i am in, or even how depressed i get, that little boy can make me laugh until i cry!
just thought i'd share.

(((((Leslie))))), I don't know how old your DS is, but he shows a very advanced level of empathy.
