A lady in my office who hasn't lived here very long has met local people through www.friendster.com. You might give that a try.
It's harder making friends as an adult - I'm not sure why. I've never been good at introducing myself to people. That's one of those skills I had to learn, and it's a little scary! But I get better at it every time, and I'm not so scared to walk into a room full of people I don't know. I agree with Caly - see if there's a group or a class or something that interests you, and just go. Step out of that comfort zone.
Consider this, too - some of us would give ANYthing to be able to go somewhere ALONE! I love spending time with my husband but fercryinoutloud, once in awhile I'd like to just GO somewhere by myself and take my time and do whatever I please. Just about the only time I get to spend alone is in the car between Point A and Point B.
I understand that lonely feeling.
As if it could bring me down any more!
Hi Lea
I know how you feel. Rejection hurts to the core and its soo impossible not to take it personally but you need to try.
*hugs
