bad day, pain ggrrrr

i have been trying to get through this week, recovering from surgery and also taking care of a sick 2 yr old. he got a 24-48 hr flu virus thing, so today he isn't puking (thankfully!) but i have done a ton of cleaning up and laundry for the past 2 days (5 loads in one day!). and picking him up and bathing him, though i'm not supposed to lift anything over 20 lbs (ack he's close to 35). but ya know how men are, don't help much with sick kids cause they have weak tummies. the last thing i need is to take care of TWO sickos!
today i am regretting having overdone it. yesterday i started having sharp pains where my appendix used to be, take-your-breath-away pain. i thought that's probably normal, scar tissue forming and all that. i knew i'd overdone it so i figured it was to be expected.
today, just above and to the right of my belly button, i have this throbing deep pain. i am hoping it is gas (LOL) because i really don't know what else it could be and it hurts really bad and i don't want to call the dr. they have got to be tired of hearing from me. even if i called, what would they say? probably *some pain is to be expected after surgery.* of course some is, and i feel like a whiner even telling you guys! it is pretty close to my upper right incision (i have 3 total, from lower left, belly button, and just under my lower right rib cage). that incision has been bothering me, but it doesn't appear infected - is just slightly swollen and of course it hurts, but it's a sensitive area too.
so here i am, miserable and hurting and knowing it's probably perfectly normal and i will get better someday - BUT WHEN? i have left the house 1 time in 3 wks for other than dr or hospital trips, all because of recovering from 2 surgeries and 1 infection and i'm losing my mind!
i made myself get out yesterday with DS, we both needed the fresh air. so we walked 1 1/2 blocks to the little store down the street and got an ice cream sandwich (because he had stopped puking by last evening). he mostly ate the m&m's off of it. LOL. that was the excitement of my life lately.
thanks for listening to me. i'm going to go lay down and pray this eases up now.

my primary physician's office says it's probably a result of the surgery and to call the surgeon's office. i called there and left a message, then realized i forgot to add that i had also vomited (and i wasn't sure if it has anything to do with the pain).
so i called back and actually caught a PERSON wow. she said yes she had just heard my message and was going to call me, and the surgeon is out of town! ACK! so she is calling the on call dr to ask him about it. geesh. i think the incisions *look* about as normal as one could, icky but not pussing. anyway, i hope this mystery dr has an idea for me.

I am glad you called, when you said you were running a fever, I got worried, cause to me that spells a low grade infection somewhere.
Hi, sorry to hear about the upset tummies. Do be careful after surgery. Keep the wound clean and dry and if the skin gets hot to touch or even warm that is a sign of infection also. I have found a cure for my blues. :) It's what all the fitness experts say WALKING I've been doing it now for two weeks. I live on a two hundred acre dairy farm. I walk all the way around four corn fields. I sleep better, no more crying jags. Don't know what I'm going to do when the corn grows. LOL
