I was wondering if anyone else 13 teen yr old goes threw a dry spell with having no friends, she only has one good friend but that friend can not always b around and hang out with my dd. My dd is mostly a very pleasant person, always looks on the bright side of life. but this summer has been very difficult for her she has gone threw a difficult time with another girl she thought was her friend, but it turned out the girl was just using her to hang out with a boy. she pretty much told the girl to take a hick and ever since then other girls in sch and on the street have been really isolating my dd from everything. well anyway she is glad that she is no longer friends with her ,but deep down I know my dd is very lonely and starting to get alittle depressed. I really don't have the money to sign her up for summer camp or other activities. I babysit during the week and dd will go with me to help out,I of course pay her and she has that to look f award to. But I think dd is getting alittle sick of going with me to do some babysitting, but I want her with me ,and not hanging out on the street or just sitting at home all day by herself. I feel so bad for her,she is really having a rotten summer so far and is really lonely. My sister has a d as old as my dd and has yet to come over and hang out with her ,dd has a cell phone and all of her cousins know dd phone number and don't even try to call her and I know this hurts her deeply. I don't know what to do,please help some one,any suggestiond I would appreciate it thanks:)

My daughter is 12 and has gone through some of the same things with friends that your daughter is going through currently.
We just had a new one built in the city where we live and they are basing the fee/cost on what you can afford.
Many opportunities to volunteer there to.
They also were letting people check it out for free.
We also have public transit which is really affordable...a monthly bus pass is 25.00 if you are registered and 30.00 if you are not. If you only use it occasionally it costs either 2.00 or 1.50 and it depends also on your age.
I am sorry this has happened to your dd.
She is very lucky to have you for a mom.
I wish I could think of other ideas...what about a program for her in a program run by your local library.
Hope her summer gets better.
Hopefully when school starts she will meet and make some new friends.
~hugs~
You are Welcome!
It's obvious you love and care about her.
I have a dd who has bi-polar and we went through a lot...depression is a big part of it.
She was ONLY about fifteen when she was diagnosed and she is my "girl".
I hope you are able to find some help for your daughter.
Have you checked out www.nami.org?
It's a great resource.
