Thank You card

I was thinking of sending a thank you card to my psychiatrist.  The reason is because when I first started seeing him about a year ago, I was extremely depressed and didn't think I would ever get better.  Through several medication changes, we finally found the medication that has helped me greatly.  I don't feel depressed anymore and felt the need to thank my doctor for his continued help and support.  What do you all think?  Is it a bit odd to send your doctor a thank you card for helping you?????

Thank you in advance for your imput :)

Personally, I think that when it comes to thank yous, if you feel like sending one you should just do it. Why wouldn't someone want to be thanked or appreciated? We all want that and it would certainly brighten anyone's day, right? I wouldn't obsess over it and would just do it.

Heidi - I would send a card! Why not? Considering they are continuously getting dumped on day in and day out, they could use some extra sunshine in their day.

When I was taking voice lessons, there was a girl who took lessons from the same teacher, and she rehearsed a song that had meaningful "thank-you" lyrics and sang it for her therapist. I don't think it would be odd at all--I'm sure you would not feel odd about saying "thank you" in person, so why not? Sure, it is their job to help you; but I have been to therapists for whom it was just a job. So I think that someone who actually cares deserves a heartfelt thank you.
