Hi, I will ask you all, and no, don't worry I won't ask your opinion then criticize what you share, I promise.
OK, so last tuesday as we were ending the intense EMDR, my therapist said I am "centering my pain". I asked what that meant, she told me to ask other people what they thought it meant, and I said, yeah, like that is a great ?? for Thanksgiving week. So she described the centering almost like a meditative yoga zen thing, but how does that word and pain go together?
If I don't get it by next thursday, I will ask her again, just the EMDR is so intense, I am lucky I am capable of driving home and fixing some simple supper for myself after it is over.
She made it sound like centering my pain was not the best route to take. Again, confused, oh well, at least it got me off thinking on the usual things I obsess about.
thanks ladies, Josie.

I don't have a clue what that means especially since I don't know EMDR therapy is.
Thanks Lia: that does make sense.
I suspect that centering your pain means keeping it inside of you instead of facing it head-on.
