Hello,,,

Hello,,,,I too am one who wears the banner 'depressed' across my chest.  Going through some difficult times currently in particular with my husband,,,,,we often visit that road.  I know he contributes greatly to my mood levels and it angers me as well as pulls me down enormously that he has that 'power' over me.  I think maybe if I wasn't battling depression I could move past a lot of what is thrown at me without allowing it to impact me the way it does.  My psych doc just recently upped my meds,,,I was trying to go off of them but that wasn't working,,,,and even though it has been a few weeks I can't say I feel much better because of that.

I worry excessively about 'everything',,,,it just drains me dry that I can't seem to turn things off and just learn to relax and try to experience what being happy is.  My husband gets very frustrated and angry with me which of course doesn't help the situation.  I walk on eggshells around him most of the time because he has a quick and unpredictable temper and I try so very hard not to release that.

Anyway,,,guess just a little bit of me.  Right now I am trying to find the energy and strength to go shopping with my Mom but just the idea of doing that makes me want to cry.  She wants to go out though I know, so I am feeling that 'G' word again (guilt) even though she isn't pushing that on me.  Oh well,,,,,I'll see what I can do,,,,just typing here makes me sad and tired.  Thanks for listening if you did.  Leah

Hi Leah, you've found friends here who understand and are here to listen and help if they can.

I am sorry Leah on the day not being a very good one.

If you are in therapy, or even if your psychiatrist is willing to do it, could your husband come with you to one of the appointments and maybe if a professional explains to your husband, depression is real and some possible suggestions of how to be more understanding vs. detrimental when you are already feeling bad.

I hope you stick around as we all care here, no magic answers, no magic wands, but a lot of love and support.

Josie.

A hug can turn your day around.

Hi, leah - I also wonder if you are in "talking therapy" with someone besides the psych doc.
