Hi everyone,
Not to insinuate that anyone should be missing me just yet (since I'm very new here!), but for a few of you who are on here so regularly, I wanted to at least let you know I'm still hangin' in there.
The holidays turned out to be a bit rougher than I expected as I had another terrible reaction to a pain med that the doctor decided to have me try (without going into too much detail, I have a headache 24/7 for reasons no doctor can seem to figure out; the headaches get worse to the point of migraine a couple times a month). I ended up in bed for a week, initially thinking it was the flu because so much of what was wrong was flu-like. But, it started the day after Xmas and I had increased the pain med, as prescribed, on Xmas day, so after a week of being practically comatose, my husband put two and two together and we decided it was probably the med (it had happened once before when I increased another med a couple months ago). So... I stopped the med and POOF! two days later I'm back to my old, headachey (but functional) self.
Also... Heidi, I did get your email message and replied, but haven't seen any reply back, so not sure if you got my response or ?
Deb, right after you said you couldn't get my email to work, I sent you an email from my email so you'd have my email (just seein' how many times I can write "email" in one sentence - LOL) - but I didn't get a reply back, so wasn't sure if you received it.
Josie and everyone else wonderful enough to reply to my "first ever" post a couple weeks ago - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi Stacey,
If you ever find anything that works with your headaches, please let me know. I get headaches just about daily, and have for quite some time. I would love to find something to get rid of the pain.

Hi,
I have had the headaches (which are more of a skull-crushing feeling - think wearing a swimming cap 24-7) and migraines for about 8 years, so I've pretty much given up hope. I'm gonna get one more scan with contrast to be sure nothing else has been going on and maybe see an ENT (I keep thinking I should and then forget and end up back at the pain dr or neurologist). Then I'm done. I just can't try anything else... It's a drag, but after 8 years I suppose I just need to accept it and deal the best I can. I have to keep myself from stressing out (very difficult) for one thing, plus I keep heat on my neck (I have neck issues too) as much as I can. I've applied for disability and stay at home, so the more rest I can get the better I feel.
I don't mean that you should give up hope though... I would suggest a neurologist if you haven't tried one. I tried nerve-blocking shots to my head (it really doesn't hurt that much cuz there's no muscle in your head). They didn't work for me, but they do for lots of people I think, so you could consider that. The chiropractor seemed to help some too, but my insurance doesn't cover it now, so I don't go anymore.
Good Luck~~

Stacey, you're not unloveable, I'm sorry you feel that you are.
What do you mean your unloveable????
Hi Amy...
Thank you for your response. Just a couple really bad days and I over-react to things sometimes; made an appointment to see a counselor today, so am hoping I'll stick with it (hard for me to find the "right one") this time.
I appreciate your suggestion; I've made that board one of my favorites, but haven't had the time to get on it and check it out yet.
Thanks again,
Stacey
