Are Caden and Katelyn too close for names of siblings? We have a Caden now and dh LOVES Katelyn - would like to call her Katie (that is if it is a girl).

TIA

Sorry to say, I do think that Caden and Katelyn are to close to be siblings. What about Kathryn or Kathlyn? Good luck.

i think that people tend to like names that sound similar to other names they've liked. My daughter is Mira, like miracle i find myself drawn to the name Xyra or Zyra (ZII RAH) but it sounds soooo much like DD name. Another example i Love the name Ellerie or Ellery (El er ree) DH hates it, i findmyself suggesting names like Ella Marie... later realizing its almost Ellerie! i would suggest trying to find another sound you both like since Caden and Katelyn could be the same if mumbled or yelled. How about an offshoot of Katelyn like Katya, Katrina, Carinna. Hope this helps

I have a son named Kaden and his sister's name is Kailynn we call her Kailee. I never really thought of them as being similar or close, I just like the names and they a suitable for each child. Good luck on your decision, CindyLynn

I think they are too close. How about something like Jaelyn, or Kiersten?

It is all up to you, though!

Good luck in the name game!

Personally, I think they are too close, especially since I like Cadyn/Caden, nn Cady, for a girl. Caden & Katie is a bit of a tongue twister. The similar Kailyn/Kaylyn is not quite as close (though still to close for my tastes). Maybe Karlyn (nn Karly), Kellyn/Kellan (nn Kelly), Camryn (nn Cammie), Maitland, Taylin/Taelyn, Madelyn, or Brooklyn?
