Any feedback on Cassidy for a girl?

I am desperate and need your opinion. We have a 9 wk baby girl who needs a name. We cannot come up with a girl’s name that we absolutely love, but seem to keep coming back to Cassidy. It seems to be a "cutesy" name for when she is little, but not a very professional sounding name for when she gets to be an adult.(or does it?) Can I get some advice from some Cassidys or Cassidy's moms about how they like/ dislike the name.. Any negative or positive feedback they have heard about their name choice or if they get/ got teased in school because of their name. Any one out there with feedback would be so appreciated! I am just trying to cover all bases on this. thanks!

Cassidy is a great choice. I also love the similar Cassia & Cassandra.

Years ago when I was pg with my 1st two boys...If I had a girl, her name would have been Cassidy Rei _____ (middle name pronounced Ray). So I like it.

I really like Cassidy. It does sound a bit cutesy, but I think that it will grow with an adult. I can picture a CEO or a doctor named Cassidy. If you aren't sure how about Cassandra, nn Cassie or Cassidy?

I'll be the oddball here and say I don't care for it too much. When I hear it I think of Shawn Cassidy or Butch Cassidy. Also, isn't Kathy Lee Gifford's daughter named Cassidy? I remember hearing her say that name a lot. This is JMO. You are the one who has to be happy with the name.

I agree - I think Cassidy is a bit too cutesy. I really like Cassandra though. nt

Cassidy is on my top name list and I love it. I think it will grow well with the child however if you don't think so. How about naming her Cassandra and using Cassidy as a nickname so she will have a choice when she gets older.

I love the name Cassidy. It was one of our top 3 choices when I was pregnant the first time around and we did have a girl but named her Alyssa. I just found out I am pregnant agagain and if I have a girl I will consider Cassidy again. I don't find it unprofessional for an adult either. I just think it is a relatively new to a "girls first name" so that is why you may think it is cutesy. I say go for it! Congratulations on your new baby girl!

Hi! I like Cassidy. Have you thought of a middle name to go with it? If not, my vote would be Cassidy Shyanne. :-}
