Hi. Yaritza is fairly common among the hispanic pop. where I live.........as is Maritza and Yatzel.

My question is: what was meant by least popular? I suppose you saw this on a site.......was it fewer than a certain percentage chose it, a certain number, or was it on a vote scale?

I wouldn't think it would be less popular than Pheonix spelled that way, either. It is surprising, but I'd like to know the size and make-up of the sample if you know it, or maybe the site addy?

http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ .. its the Social Security Web site. The chart goes from most popular to least popular .. it shows the number where the name is ranked and then the number of people with that name. Katy is the very last name. I may have read it wrong so if i did let me know! :)

Sure 'nuff! Least popular of the top 1000, that is. But that's pretty far down for such a "regular" name........the spelling's not THAT bad! It's behind Shreya and Nicolette (always makes me think of Nicorette gum) for goodness' sake! Thanks for pointing that out, I've seen the list, but just didn't notice that.
