Looking for suggestions

I am expecting in March, and I'm trying to get some ideas for baby names.

For a boy I really like the name Dietrich (pronounced Dee-trik... Dieter for short!) but I am having trouble coming up with a good middle name? I want something classic, strong, a little unusual, not too trendy, that will hopefully blend with my other kids' names. (a tall order, I know!)

I am not sure what I want in a girl's name, but I am leaning towards Josephine (a family name) and calling her Josie. I gave my first daughter three names, so I would need three for this one, too. :-) What goes with JOSIE??? (I HATE trendy girl's names! I prefer something classic or even old fashioned.)

My boys are:

Christopher Michael

Jordan Wesley

Ian Alexander

Benjamin Anthony

My girl is:

Ivy Victoria Anne :-)

Any suggestions would be appreciated! :-)

Stephanie, mom to four boys and a princess....and one on the way!

I really like the names of your other children.

With Dietrich, how about:

Dietrich Clark

Dietrick Sean

Dietrich Lance

Dietrich Anders

Dietrich Geoffrey

Dietrich Reilly

Dietrich Martin

Dietrich Jorgensen

Dietrich Oliver

A few ideas using Josephine:

Josephine Noelle Avalon

Josephine Maura Layne

Josephine Audra Kate

Josephine Leah Paige

Josephine Fiona Renee

Josephine Riley Erin

Josephine Elle Therese

I love the nn Josie. You could also use Josette with that nn instead of Josephine.

Good luck.

arwenevenstar : For mn suggestions for Josephine you might want to seek out Miss Jorie LOL I'm sure she has many names that she's considered for her own dd :) (hm, what is her username now... partlycloudy something-or-another) I'm sure she'd be loads of help to you, as she is considering the name for her own new arrival. There is also another poster to this board who recently gave birth to a daughter Josephine and she might be able to help you also. Just a suggestion! :o)

If you are going to use 3 MNs with Josephine I suggest two very short names. Josephine is a mouthful in and of itself.

I envy you with all your children :) I've always wanted 4 or 5 (at least!) of my own. Don't know if Dh is willing, though... so far we've only agreed on 4 but I'd love to have a whole TEAM! All your names are right up my alley, too! (Except Deitrich, I'm not real sure about that one! :)

Lots of luck to you! and congratulations

How about Stuart Dietrich? And call him by the mn. It sounds better w/Stuart as the fn.

Wow! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

I think I like Dietrich William for a boy, and for a girl I am thinking about

Josephine Margaret Rose... Josie Rose for short. :-)

I'm still combing the baby name books for more ideas, though! It's a good thing I still have 7 1/2 months to decide!

Yes, Dietrich William is nice! My DH has always liked the name (after Dietrich Bonhoeffer) but so far I have won with other names. :-)

For some reason, Josephine is not my favorite. I know a few of them under the age of 2, though. Genevieve seems to be gaining popularity, too.

Maybe Josie Mae or Josie Kate?
