Charlotte Elizabeth was born at 10:43pm Saturday July 10th! I had a 48 hour labor ending in a C section because her heart rate was dropping from pitosin (sp?). She was 7 lbs 14 ozs. 21 1/2 inches long! She is beautiful and perfect! Her name was not decided until after we got back to the room. During the C section all the doctors and nurses wanted to know what we were going to name her, and we still didn't know. I whispered to dh during the surgery, "well, what are we going to name her?" He answered "Charlotte" which I didn't think he really meant. So afterwards they took her away and finished sewing me up, then back at the room they sent my parents out for a minute and we were alone with her. I said "let me see her". I said "What do you think?" He answered Charlotte again. I said are you sure, not sure at all myself and all wacked out on drugs too!! It was a shock to really name her. So that was it!

The next day the anesthesiologist came in and said "I have to know, what did you name her?!" Everyone at the hospital kept saying that it was pretty, and that they never hear it. My dad absolutely loves it, which surprised me.

I want to thank you all for your support and interest! I almost cried when I saw the posts looking for me! Of course I am very emotional these days!

We haven't come up with any formal nicknames yet--dh does call her shmoopy and I call her my little rosebud. She has very dark hair and rosy skin. I will try to figure out how to post pics and post one.

Thanks again!! I could not have done it without you guys!

Oh! A HUGE congrats to you! This is wonderful! :o)

One of the names I'm considering is Charla Xianne. How do you feel about Charla for a nn? It would work out w/Charlotte....
