Hi all!!

I was on here the other day and saw the name Laynie, and thought it was adorable. I'm not sure about how to spell it. Hopefully you gals could help me out and maybe come up with mn's that would go good with it. Thanks!

Lanie is a better spelling, IMO.

Lanie Grace?

There are several ways to spell Laynie, but I much prefer it as a nickname for Delaney(one of my guilty pleasure names) or Malayna.

Laynie, Laynee, Laney, Lainie, Lanie, Laine, Lainey, Layney, Laynye (ick!), Lainee, or Layni

Quite a few of these would be pushing it, but these are the spellings I've seen personally before. I like the spellings Laney or Lainey. Lainey Elizabeth is pretty.

I like Lainey as a nn, not a given name.

I had a friend named Elayne once and I called her Laynie I thought it was so cute! Maybe I spelled it Layney... can't recall. Anyway I think it's adorable. I like it as a nn for :

Elayne/Alayne

Elayna/Alayna

Melayna

Melanie

I'm sure any of these spellings could be alternated.

I think Lanie looks the best. Its a simple name, and there's no need to try to jazz it up with a y. I would suggest naming her Lane, or Laine, or Elaine and calling her Lanie for short though.

I like Laney the best, but Laynie or Lanie are both OK. just don't go with Layne. I know one of them - she's 19 and a sophomore in college and she went through life having her name mispronounced as Lane. She hates it because of that. When she'd correct people, they'd say right to her, it looks like Lane to me.

I really like Delaney too. can always have the nn Lanie.

good luck.
