Hi, we are expecting a boy soon and the name that I have fallen in love with is Kaiden. We have even taken to calling him by the name when he wiggles around in my stomach. The only concern raised was that it might clash with our last name which is Wakeman. I know they kind of rhyme which is not intentional, is it really that bad?

I'm jealous that you love a boys name!

It doesn't sound that bad with your last name, but I think you could find something that flowed better.

I like the name although it's nms. I think it's not horrible w/your ln but something else would flow better. If I saw his name in a book I wouldn't think it was bad like Doris Norris (a woman I worked with) Would you nn him Kai? Also, Kaiden, and different spellings, is becoming trendy. And, it's also being used for girls.

Hmmm...The rhyming thing isn't terrible, but I agree that it doesn't flow really well, either. IMO, also, this name makes me think immediately of a girl. I think the K and the I in that particular spelling make it suspect. Perhaps spelled Kaden or Caden may look more masculine? There is a girl, Kayden, in a 3yr. old Sunday School class in our (large) church, but I haven't seen it used for a boy.

well, yes, it is a little too rhymey in my opinion. but if you really like it and want to use it, I think you should spell it Kaden or Caden. the i in there really makes it look feminine and girls are starting to use all the aden's .

could you be sold on Keegan or Colton, which area kind of close, but definitely sound better with Wakeman.

good luck

I think it sounds fine w/your last name - just don't use a long "a" in the MN.
