Hello all, I am sure sooner or later I will be in here. We found out about 2 weeks ago that the joys are just about to begin, we are pregnant for the first time. I should be about 7 weeks 2 days but I have the feeling that i may be further along, but I go to the dr's on Aug 3 and he should order an ultra sound then but I should be thinking about names anyway.

Need an opinion on Hubbys choice, our last name is Dewar and if it is a boy he says he wants to name is Dylan, now how stupid is dylan dewar, he thinks it is the name of a baseball player I dont, not with our last name anyway. I thought naming a boy after both of our grandfathers and naming him James Ernest, we could call him JED for short. Now be honest isnt my name better than his??????????lol

well, I do like the name Dylan a lot better than James Ernest, because I'm not into older names at all. I'm not sure about Dylan with Dewar though, but for no other reason than that they both start with D. sometimes alliteration sounds OK, other times it doesn't. to be truthful in this case it sounds all right, Dylan Dewar. James is so boring. sorry.

personally i like Dylan Dewer :) But i think its neat to combine his initails and call him Jed. Jed Dewer sounds like a baseball player too i think!

I don't know if I can help by being neutral but in truth I think that Dylan with a nice mn will go well with Dewar but I have heard worse there was two guys in my home town in Wisconsin who went by Rem Brandt; that was his true name and the other was named Peter Pie. But I see what you are getting at and I think it is the rhythm. For example Jane Moss doesn't sound good to me but Jane Marie Moss sounds better. Wouldn't it be nice if you couldn't plant a chip in his ear and each and everytime you say a certain word your hubby bows to your every whim. What a tool for those hubbies who are stubborn about the name process.

it is something about the first and the last name haveing the same initial, it is ok for a middle name to me but not a first name, I keep saying it over and over in my head and it still doesnt sound right to me. We both did like the name Jacob though, his family has a tradtion for all of the boys to have a "J" for a first initial and I like that tradition,I dont know we have many more monthes to decide on this.
