Hi, my husband and I are expecting our first in September and we already have a name for a boy picked out, but we are not so sure for a girl. Please comment.

- Catherine

- Christina

- Jenna

- Lacy (My husbands name is Clay, and if you rearrange the letters in Lacy, you get Clay)

Catherine - Pretty but not imaginative. I would recommend a unique mn with this one.

Christina - It's a bit fresher then Catherine, but in the same category. More nn possibilities then Catherine.

Jenna - Short and sweet. Seems more interesting to me then the first two. Sounds a little like a nn. I knew a Jenna in High School. She was bubbly and friendly.

Lacy - Love that it is your husband's name rearranged. Very neat. I think this one has the most spunk but seems kind of nick namish. This one is my favorite from your list but it doesn't grow up as well. It seems Lacy is short for Larissa according to babynames.com. I would consider using Larissa but using Lacy as a nn to help the grow up factor.

Good names. Any of them will work!!

Hi there,

I like all your names - but I especially like Lacy and Jenna because they are more original, not overused. Lacy's connection to your husband's name is a special thing, too! Jenna is a name I've always liked.

Best of luck to you!

Hello and congratulations on expecting. Here are my comments for the names you have chosen:

Catherine - Pretty and classic. Will grow well as she ages. I prefer the Katherine spelling but that's just my personal opinion. Either way it's spelled it's still a pretty name.

Christina - This is a name that has stood the test of time as well and will also grow well as your daughter ages. I don't like it as much as Catherine though.

Jenna - I don't hate this name but it's not a name that would be on my personal list. However, my personal taste aside, it's not a name your daughter would have problems with (i.e. - teasing, etc.)

Lacy - This one is not normally my style, but since it has significance regarding your husband's name then I think you have a good reason for choosing this name. I agree with the previous poster who said this name does not grow as well. I have a hard time picturing a grown woman with this name but that may just be me.

Good Luck and let us know what you choose.

You've got great tastes!! Catherine and Christina are in my Top Ten and Jenna is so pretty. The sentiment behind Lacy is great, too.

What about Lacy Catherine? I also like Lacy as a mn. Catherine Lacy, Christina Lacy, and Jenna Lacy all sound nice to me.

I guess I wasn't much help but it's hard to choose from such great names!

I really like Lacy. I like it because of your husbands name, I must say that is very creative to think of that.

I think Lacy is a sweet way of honoring her daddy Clay, so that gets my vote.
