I think the name Shane is far better than Shad. Although I do like Chad a lot as an alternative to Shad as well.

I kind of like the spelling Shayne a little better too, but either one is OK.

good luck.

I agree with the first poster - try not to stress yourself out. Once you see the baby's face, choosing his name might be just natural. And maybe he is a she!

When my third son was born, my BF and I had argued about boy names throughout the pregnancy (of course, we were in perfect agreement about a girl's name) and I was the one to make the list of ten for him to choose from. Once he saw the baby, he knew which one to pick.

I am afraid we will spend this pregnancy the same way, unless the ultrasound shows a girl! But I've decided to not stress myself out this time - if we don't agree now, I will wait until the baby is here. In a way, that's exciting.

Try to relax, and best of luck!

I have to agree, I think boy names are a million times more difficult than girl names. I've (jokingly) told my DH that if I could just think of one boy name I liked, we might try for a third, which means we aren't trying:)

Anyway, Owen has been the only boy name I've actually loved, and I used it for my DS last year. I still love the name and wouldn't change it for all the world. But I also liked Asher and Luke. I find with boy names, there are a ton that I LIKE, just none that I love (except for Owen). Anyway, I personally don't like Shad or Shane much (the first makes me think of a fish, dunno why--chad, had-dock..., and I've just happened to know many icky Shanes in my life).

I think with your last name, two or three syllables sound best. Some solid old-fashioned names that would work well include: :

Charles (Charlie) Rude

Henry Rude

William or Wilson Rude

Very slightly off-center, there are:

Calvin Rude

Malcomb Rude

Hudson Rude

Jackson Rude

Spencer Rude

Hagan Rude

Hayden Rude

That's all I've got right now.

Best of luck to you!

Amy
