Hi-

I am 37 weeks pregnant. I am so excited! I can't wait. This will be my 4th child. This one is a girl. Well, that's what the ultrasound said. I already have Tyler,Anna, and Trent. This is the name we have picked out so far for a girl. Let me know your opinion. Aeris Marie. It is very different. My husband came up with that name. It has to be an "A" name. Thanks!

Aeris is a really lovely name and not to mention very beautiful and of course you feel that way too. I would go ahead and use it.

I think it is pronounced "AIR-ess".. but could be wrong. I think it's neat, but it's the name of a mad king in my favorite fantasy series. But it sounds pretty. I just can't get past the association with the series in my head.

Is it pronounced air-us? If so, I really like it.

It's pretty -- sort of a different take on Iris. Along those same lines, I also think Aerin is intereting.

My only hesitation is what a previous poster mentioned, which is that your other children's names are more on the mainstream side, and Aeris is more creative and unique. I wonder if Anna (which is a lovely name!) will feel like her name is "boring" in comparison. However, I think this is unavoidable since sisters always compare, no matter what they are named. My sister is Kathleen and I'm Christine -- names that were both fairly common in the 70s and are similar in style -- yet we always wanted the other's name! Such is life.

Other A names I like: Abigail, Alexandra, Allison, Ameila, Ariel, Aubrey, Audra, Audrey

Good luck!

I think it's a beautiful name and you should use it. While some people may feel that it doesn't *fit* with the other more classic names, your daughter will fit in with the family regardless. So go ahead and give her this beautiful name, for a beautiful girl, fitting in with her beautiful family...
