Along the lines of "occupation" names..

I just found this humorous...during our long search for a boy name. While looking through DH's family tree for a potential name, we came across one of the "occupation" names that are so popular right now (like Sawyer, Hunter, Archer, etc), but I don't think this one will catch on, at least for a boy. My DH's great grandfather's first name was Tinker. This was of course long before Tinkerbell and the like. Needless to say, our family is not all pushing each other out of the way to use this name for our little boys! At least we got a good laugh...to my DH's grandfather's distain at our making fun of his father!

My dad's MN is Bricker. He was named after some governor or something his parents liked...

No one in our family has reused that one either.

You know, not that we did it on purpose, we just realized one day that it had happened, but we named our two DS's Taylor and Mason.

Funny.

Have a good one.
