I'd like your advice on our list of baby names. We are due in March and we're keeping the gender a secret until the birth.

My children's names are Caelan Shane and Brynn Mari, so I'd like something to fit with their names. I was actually trying to find an "A" name I liked (C name, B name.. A name..)but having a hard time.

Anyway, here's our list:

Girls:

Tamryn

Taryn

Meadow (our last name is Frost.. too 'hippie'?)

Baylee

Morgan

Eve (I *love* this, dh not so fond of)

Caitriona (I'm Irish on dad's side)

Ciara (Kira, Keera)

Clare

Eleanor

Juliet

Kate

Molly

Maura

Neve

Riona

Sarah

and dh likes Winifred! (Winnie for short)

Boys:

Adam

Brendan

Kieran

Conall

Ewan (my brother's name)

Owen

Gabriel

Garrett

Jamie (other brother's name)

Kyle

Lochlan

William

Lucas

Luke

Malcolm

Michael (too popular..?)

Quinn

Ruadhain (Roo-an.. would it ever be pronounced correctly?)

Ryan

Or.. Patrick Wade, after mine and dh's fathers'..

Help me weed through my list!

Alsatia-

Ailith isn't in any of my baby books. Do you have a meaning for this one? And is it pronounced Ay-lith? Or Eye-lith? Or do you get all Irish with it and pronounce it Eye-leeth? :)

I have added Riona Meadow to my favorites list! I can't believe I didn't come up with that combination. Dh compromised with me on the Eve, as long as he can have Meadow as a first name. I think it's beautiful, but Meadow Frost? She'd never see the end of the teasing.

Thanks so much for your help! I've added your suggestions to my notebook.

Eleanor is my first choice...but I'm biased :P BTW we are leaning toward Lucy if this next one is a girl...Eleanor & Luci go well together.

Other girl names I like with you other kids:

Molly, Maura, Kate & Neve I'd add Maeve too

Conall, Ewan(love it) & PAtrick Wade

Andi-

How old is your Eleanor? I love this name! Dh thinks it's too old for a baby. :o/ I think we could call her Elle. It's very feminine and young until she 'grows into' the name.

I've always loved my name, it's been fairly unique wherever I've been. When is your baby due?

Ella is 7 & I can't tell you how much my mom & MIL hated the name before we had her(won't be sharing any names this time till baby is in arms LOL!) My mom actually said "that's an ugly first lady's name!" But now they love it. Ella is always being told how beautiful her name is. And eventhough we call her Ella, she has always been Eleanor in school. She know about all the famous Eleanor's & Ella's in history. I love names with history & meaning.

I'm due 5-13-05 with #4. We also have Joseph Patrick & Henry Thomas.

I really like that Lucy & Eleanor botth mean light. Kind of brings it full circle IF this is a girl. If it's a boy, I'm not sure what we'll name him!

Is Luci your full name or is it short for something else & what's you mn? I love Lucinda but my dad's 2nd wife is Linda & it's too close.

Of your list, my favorites for a girl (that sounds best I think with your other children's names) are Neve
and
Amy, mom to Nate (9), Calvin (7), and Tobias (4). You can find me at my blogs:

Hi Andi!

I'm keeping Eleanor on my list. Dh jokes about some of the names I pick (hello.. Winifred?!) but if it meant a great deal to me he would go with it.

You could always use Lucas or Luke if your baby is a boy. The masculine for Lucy. :) I think Lucas sounds nice together with Joseph and Henry.

My first name is just Luci. My maiden name was Donovan.

I'm just full of opinions, as usual-

Here goes- As a sib to Caelan Shane & Brynn Mari Frost-Girls:

(The ones I think you should keep on list are *).

*Tamryn- Great fit.

*Taryn - Another great fit.

Meadow (our last name is Frost.. too 'hippie'?) - Lovely name, but yes.

Baylee - TOO, too popular for the others.

Morgan - Nice but unclear then to the gender of all three kids in my opinion.

*Eve (I *love* this, dh not so fond of) - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, neat fit, too. A little choppy with last name.

Caitriona (I'm Irish on dad's side) - I LOVE THIS NAME-I WANT SOMEONE TO USE IT!- but too close to Caelan, IMO.

*Ciara (Kira, Keera) - I prefer Kyra(keara). Beautiful name. Nice fit. A keeper.

Clare- My mn. I like it with Brynn, but I wouldn't do two sibs with the same first letter(C) and the other not (Brynn).

Eleanor- Not a great fit to me with others, might be a good choice for mn.

Juliet - A little better fit, b/c this one is somewhat fresh, but still not the best fit with others.

Kate- Too much like Caelan, it think it'd make a great mn that's similar to others' mn.

Molly - Doesn't fit.

*Maura - I LOVE this name. Pretty good fit. Maura Kate is a very nice fit.

*Neve- FABULOUS NAME-FABULOUS FIT- I want someone IN REAL LIFE to use this, since Dh wouldn't let me! LOL

Riona - Another pretty good fit but not a personal fave when compared to the other potential names.

Sarah - Way too popular and not a great fit.

and dh likes Winifred! (Winnie for short)- Score one for dh- this is a darling name, but not a great fit & I don't like the rhymey effect of Brynn & Winnie.

Boys:

*Adam- Not bad fit, and I LOVE the subtle connection of using an A- name.

Brendan- Way too close to Brynn.

Kieran - Too close to Caelan.

Conall - I like this name, but again I wouldn't do two names with the same letter.

*Ewan (my brother's name)- Another name I like. I think it's a great fit, but are the other children named for anyone? I think family names are great, but I like for all sibs to have them or no sibs to have them.

*Owen- Love it, great fit.

Gabriel- No.

*Garrett- Pretty good fit.

*Jamie (other brother's name)- Not such a great fit, what about Jamison, much better flow with others!

Kyle- too similar to Caelan for my taste.

*Lochlan- In my personal top five. Adore nn Lock/Locke. Great fit.

*William - not a great fit, perhaps for a mn UNLESS you plan to call him Liam, then...It's a GREAT fit!

Lucas- Not a great fit, but Luke...oh yeah!

**Luke- Much better.

Malcolm - Nope, not with others.

Michael (too popular..?) - This one is NEVER too popular in my opinion. It is the ultimate boy name. It just doesn't fit with others. Would be a great mn. I also think the fresher Micah is a good fit with others.

Quinn- Rhymes with Brynn!

Ruadhain (Roo-an.. would it ever be pronounced correctly?)- Do you live in US? If so, the answer is no! I can see the appeal of the name and it's not a bad fit with others. What about Reuben?

Ryan- Too pop. when compared to others.

***Or.. Patrick Wade, after mine and dh's fathers'..***- Of course, being the supporter of family names that I am, this is definitely my first choice, BUT ONLY IF the other two children ARE named for someone. Trust me, sibs compare and compete about this, even as adults! I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! I think Pate as a nn would be fantastic with other two.

ALSO- here are a few A- names for you b/c it think that'd be a neat but not matchy/cutesy way to connect sibs. I have a friend who did this (Amber, Bonnie, Catherine).

Here are some I like with sibs- Girls - Arden, Ariel, Ariadne, Arienne, Adrienne, Ayla, Aydree, Avery

Boys- Alden(all-den), Aaron, Asher, Ames, Anders

Best wishes and please keep us posted b/c I think you have some lovely possibilities! Ginger
