Jadyn or Jaidyn...Girl or Boy??

I am on the April expecting board and there is a thread about our favorite names so far. My DH and I have pretty much decided on Jadyn, Jaidyn Christine (don't know which spelling yet) for a girl. A couple people have posted Jayden (same pronunciation) for a boy. I just always thought of this as a girl's name. Through friends i know of three Jaidyn's that are girls where i live. I'm just curious what anyone else thinks about naming a girl this. My DD's name is Rylee, which spelled Riley can also be a boy's name. Anyway, just curious what everyone else thinks of Jaidyn or Jadyn Christine??

it is a unisex name (Will Smith and Jada Pinkett's son is named Jaden), but IMO it is much better for girls cause it has the obvious girls nn of Jade...

I like Jaidyn Kristine (I prefer K over CH for Kristine)

Thanks for your response. I hadn't thought of changing Christine to Kristine. My full name is Christine, but it would be cool to change it for our daughter (if we have a girl) to make it still her own. Good Idea!!

I think Jadyn is a great name for a girl. My daughter's name is Havyn Noelle (Haven). Noelle for my husband Noel. I think either of your choices would be good. Congrats on you little blessing.

Jaden is a unisex name to me and a very popular one at that. I know probably 5 boys and 6 girls named Jaden, all under the age of 6. Some unisex names I really like (like I think Riley is adorable for a girl or boy) but Jaden, Jayden, Jaidyn, Jadyn, is NMSAA!! Good luck with the pg!

I like Jaden as a boy's name.

If you use it for a girl, I'd spell it Jayden.

I know someone who named her son Jaden. I think this name can go both ways but I like Jadyn Christine.

Here's what I found on the name: American, unisex name; originally a male biblical name meaning God has heard (Jaiden, Jayden, Jadyn, Jadynn, Jaidyn, Jaidynn, Jaydyn, Jaydynn)

Based on the 2002 Social Security Ranking, Jaden was ranked the number 244 most popular Girls name in the US.

FYI...Actor Will Smith named his son Jaden.

Christy Jaden is and always has been a very feminine name to me.. I agree with you that it goes way better for a girl and to me it doesn't matter how you spell it, it's still pronounced the same way... It's like when I first heard Morgan being used for girl's.. I always knew Morgan's as a males name not females.. Oh well.. people name their kid's what they want and like.. I myself like classy elegant feminine names for my girls and will stick with a normal traditional name for my boy... I don't want them getting made fun of in school..

Hugs,

Rebecca

I think Jaidyn is more feminine. Will Smith and Jada Pinkets son is Jaden. I love the name, unfortunately hubby does'nt.
