Jennifer is a classic name, and not too common with young girls now(has had her trendy time, as has Jordan, and Jessica), and Jensyn would be great nickname

rereading about Jackson/John i like either, both strong names, of course, what can be more classic than a great name like John. my thought with Jackson nn Jack with Jacob/Jake. would you like considering another form from John maybe? Jonah(though trendy, yet classic) Jonas.. could even nn Johnny John Jon Joey Joe. or maybe Josiah(little trendy, but classic) nn Joey Joe. many possibilities with form of John..if thats what your looking for.

another possibility is Jacalyn/Jacqueline/Jacquelyn, James is the latin version of Jacob..Jacquelyn is the femine french version of Jacques which is the french version of Jacob...

there are several nn's for Jacalyn..Jackie, Jacki, Jaci (jay see), Calyn (kay linn, which is what my dd uses), Cally, Caly (kay lee), Lyn, Cay, Jan....

I do like Jensyn but wanted to give you another option apart from Jamyson for a name based on your dh's...
